Hiranandani-Backed Yotta Data Services to Deploy $7 Billion in Capex in 2026, Targets Global AI Cloud Market
Yotta Commits $7 Billion to Global AI Infrastructure Expansion
Data centre and AI cloud firm Yotta Data Services plans to deploy about $7 billion in capital expenditure this year, and double that amount next year as it expands its graphics processing unit (GPU) cloud business and position itself as a global provider of artificial intelligence infrastructure services, according to an announcement in June 2026.
The company has already deployed $3 billion in capex this year and expects another $4 billion or more to be invested between November and January, with investments helping raise its operating capacity to around 175–180 megawatt by the end of the year, primarily supporting its cloud and AI services business, said Darshan Hiranandani, chairman and cofounder of Yotta Data Services.
Global Ambition, India-Based Infrastructure
The company expects 75 per cent of its revenue this year to come from global customers, with the executive noting "75 per cent of our revenue will come from global companies". Yotta was among the first in India to bring large-scale Nvidia GPU clusters into operation and today serves global customers seeking AI training and inference capabilities.
Yotta's Mumbai facility has been designed for up to 2 gigawatt of capacity, while the Greater Noida campus can support another 250 megawatt. The company already contracted over 30,000 additional GPUs and had room to deploy another 45,000 GPUs in the future.
Navigating Scale and Geopolitics
The aggressive expansion comes amid rising global demand for AI computing infrastructure. According to Hiranandani, the difficult part is running the clusters, configuring applications and learning how to operate at scale. Yotta's AI cloud ambitions have also benefited from recent geopolitical developments. The company said some AI workloads originally planned for West Asia have been temporarily redirected to other regions, including India, amid uncertainty in the region.
Hiranandani Group's Infrastructure Footprint
Established in 1978, Hiranandani Group is one of the most prestigious real estate developers based in Mumbai. Beyond residential and commercial real estate, Darshan Hiranandani serves as CEO of the Hiranandani Group, a leading real estate and infrastructure development company. With an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, he has diversified the Hiranandani Group into emerging sectors, including data centers, cloud computing, and energy.
The company operates cloud regions across its hyperscale data center parks in Panvel (Navi Mumbai) and Greater Noida (Delhi NCR). Yotta currently operates over 10,000 GPUs at its NM1 data center and is on track to scale its AI compute capacity to more than 80,000 next-generation GPUs by FY27–28.
A Strategic Shift in India's AI Infrastructure
Yotta Data Services received the 2026 Indian Company of the Year Recognition from Frost & Sullivan in the AI infrastructure industry for its outstanding achievements in sovereign cloud infrastructure, AI-ready compute environments, and customer-centric innovation. This recognition highlights Yotta Data Services' leadership in enabling secure, compliant, and high-performance AI infrastructure that supports India's evolving digital transformation and artificial intelligence ecosystem.
The company is seeing growing international interest in the sovereign cloud infrastructure it has built for India, with requests to replicate similar solutions in overseas markets.
