Yotta Data Services Launches New Cloud Data Center in GIFT City, Gujarat
Yotta G1 Data Centre Now Operational in GIFT City
Hiranandani Group's Yotta Data Services has made its Yotta G1 data centre operational in the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT city) in Gandhinagar. The opening of this data center marks the debut of Yotta in Gujarat and progresses the company's mission to provide digital services in India's high-growth markets. G1 is Yotta's fifth data center facility in the country.
Infrastructure and Capacity
The data centre has a capacity of over 350 high-density racks and 2 Mw power (which can be scaled further as per demand). G1 represents an investment of more than Rs 500 crore over five years across critical non-IT and IT/Cloud /AI compute infrastructure.
According to Yotta, this data centre will deliver fault-tolerant facility infrastructure, high-performance Cloud computing and storage infrastructure, advanced physical and cyber security, connectivity, and sustainability.
Location and Regulatory Environment
Yotta G1 is uniquely located inside the International Financial Services Center (IFSC) zone of Gandhinagar's Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT city). The data centre will help meet the digital needs of customers, who may be located within GIFT City or anywhere in the world.
Being in the IFSC provides the data centre distinct advantages like free foreign exchange convertibility, a liberalised regulatory environment, and business-friendly policies. It also helps enterprises adhere to IFSC's compliance requirements, including being mandated to host their data within the IFSC zone.
Data Sovereignty for Global Enterprises
For the large global enterprises operating in the GIFT City IFSC zone, the G1 data centre functions as a potential data embassy, whereby their data stored is subject to the laws and regulations of their home country, thus allowing them to maintain sovereignty over their data, even when stored in India.
Cloud and AI Services
Yotta G1 Data centre is the only data center facility in this strategic location that not only offers colocation but also offers the full stack of Cloud, managed IT and Cyber security services, to store and process, data and applications for a variety of use cases including AI models and enterprise applications.
Hiranandani Group's Data Centre Expansion
Yotta Data Services is a subsidiary of the Hiranandani Group, a real estate and infrastructure development company active across India. It joins four large operational data centers, two of which, at Navi Mumbai and Greater Noida are part of hyperscale campuses. Darshan Hiranandani is the Chairman and Co-founder of Yotta Data Services. He also serves as CEO of the Hiranandani Group, a leading real estate and infrastructure development company.
